Recipe to try at home
Oven Fried Chicken
Crunchy, golden buttermilk chicken baked instead of fried, with all the flavor.
Ingredients
- 8 chicken drumsticks or thighs
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups crushed cornflakes or panko
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp melted butter
Make it
- Soak chicken in buttermilk with half the salt for at least 30 minutes, refrigerated.
- Heat oven to 425°F. Mix crumbs, flour, spices and remaining salt; coat chicken and set on a rack over a sheet pan.
- Drizzle with butter and bake 40 to 45 minutes until crisp and 165°F at the bone.
