Recipe to try at home

Strawberry Shortcakes

Tender biscuits split and piled with juicy strawberries and whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp sugar plus 1/4 cup for berries
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 6 tbsp cold butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream plus 1 cup for whipping
  • 4 cups sliced strawberries

Make it

  1. Toss strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar and let sit 20 minutes.
  2. Heat oven to 425°F. Mix flour, 3 tbsp sugar and baking powder, cut in butter, stir in 3/4 cup cream, and cut into 8 rounds.
  3. Bake 14 to 16 minutes until golden; split and fill with berries and whipped cream.
