Strawberry Shortcakes
Tender biscuits split and piled with juicy strawberries and whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp sugar plus 1/4 cup for berries
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 6 tbsp cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup heavy cream plus 1 cup for whipping
- 4 cups sliced strawberries
Make it
- Toss strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar and let sit 20 minutes.
- Heat oven to 425°F. Mix flour, 3 tbsp sugar and baking powder, cut in butter, stir in 3/4 cup cream, and cut into 8 rounds.
- Bake 14 to 16 minutes until golden; split and fill with berries and whipped cream.
