Savory Grits Bowl
Creamy cheddar grits topped with a soft egg, greens and hot sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 cup stone-ground grits
- 4 cups water
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups chopped kale
- Hot sauce to serve
Make it
- Simmer grits in salted water, stirring often, 25 to 30 minutes until creamy; stir in butter and cheese.
- Saute kale in a pan with a pinch of salt until wilted. Fry eggs until whites and yolks are set.
- Spoon grits into bowls and top with kale, an egg and hot sauce.
