Sorrel Holiday Punch

A spiced Caribbean-style hibiscus punch with ginger, clove and orange.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups dried hibiscus (sorrel)
  • 8 cups water
  • 2-inch piece ginger, sliced
  • 6 whole cloves
  • Peel of 1 orange
  • 3/4 cup sugar

Make it

  1. Boil water with ginger, cloves and orange peel for 5 minutes.
  2. Add hibiscus, turn off the heat and steep at least 1 hour.
  3. Strain, sweeten to taste, chill and serve over ice.
