Savory Herb Scones
Flaky cheddar scones flecked with chives and parsley, best warm with butter.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp cold butter, cubed
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
- 1/4 cup chopped chives and parsley
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
Make it
- Heat oven to 400°F. Whisk flour, baking powder and salt, then rub in butter until pea-sized.
- Stir in cheese, herbs and cream until a shaggy dough forms; pat into a 1-inch round and cut 8 wedges.
- Bake on a lined sheet 18 to 20 minutes until golden and cooked through.
