Red Lentil Dal
Comforting red lentils simmered with turmeric and topped with sizzling spiced oil.
Ingredients
- 1 cup red lentils, rinsed
- 4 cups water
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 3 cloves garlic, sliced
- 1 tsp salt
Make it
- Simmer lentils, water and turmeric 20 minutes, stirring, until soft and creamy.
- Stir in tomatoes and salt and simmer 5 minutes more.
- Heat oil, sizzle cumin seeds and garlic until golden, then pour over the dal.
